GREAT CROWD AT THE ROSCOE
Playing The Roscoe to a packed audience and a crowded dance floor, gigging doesnt get any better. We can never guarantee how many people will turn up to see us , but yet again we weren't dissapointed, great to see new and old faces. After last weeks drenching at the outdoor gig we were pleased that all the electricals behaved themselves and that everything went according to plan.
WHAT A GREAT WEEKEND !
Kicked off the weekend on Friday night at the Bar Vida in Selby. What a good venue this turned out to be with great bar staff and management.
We cant believe how many of you turned up from The Fox its always good to see you, also,Sim, Chris, Diane and the rest of the crew who travelled to see us, your never ending support is really appreciated. From the first song to the last we enjoyed playing to the crowd who were in party mode all through the 3 sets. The hospitality shown by the staff and management was fantastic and hopefully it wont be the last time we play here at this great venue.............

AND THE BAND PLAYED ON

Sunday saw us at the Mosaic event playing an out door gig behind the Corn Exchange in Leeds. It should have been a covered stage but that failed to materialise and two songs in to the set the heavens opened up. 1 hour later a marquee had been erected to protect the drum kit and backline but the 3 guitarists were left outside. 8 songs into the re-start the heavens opened up again and by the end of the gig Iv'e been dryer singing in the bath, even so the crowd stayed and sang along under their brollies to create a unique atmosphere.
Special thanks to Diane, Julie and Judith for your never ending support its always great to see you.
Hopefully our gear will have dried out and be working ok for this Fridays gig at The Roscoe, we hope you can make it down there.

SUCCESS AT THE LION
Styckleback have never been afraid to travel to new venues where ever they are. We have played large venues such as The Irish centre to 800 people and at hardened rock venues like The Boot and Shoe at Ackworth and gone down a storm but when asked to play at The Lion on the infamous Cas Vegas Strip we were a bit worried that our varied repertoire might not go down well with the heavy rock regulars. The feeling didnt get any better when we turned up to find 8 Harley Davidsons parked outside belonging to The Satans Slaves etc. We neednt have worried, what a great pub this is with plenty of praise from a music knowledgeable crowd, we got praise even after the sound check from John, singer with top AC/DC Tribute band RIFF RAFF. This wasnt a ready made audience, we had to work hard to turn them round from a cautious start a loud WE WANT MORE at the end.
A big thanks to Mal for phoning us for this last minute booking and then for inviting us back to play here again. This is one serious music pub with in house P.A , Stage Lights and Stage, a credit to Landlady Julie and the boss H, we loved it and the people, cant wait to play The Lion again.
