THE MOTHER OF ALL GIGS (THE SEQUEL) CROSS KEYS, MORLEY
Styckleback performed what must have been the most outstanding gig of the year. The band gave two high quality sets that you will find hard to surpass on the local live circuit, taking Styckleback up to the highest level of supurb bands the area is lucky to have in its midst. With a new powerhouse of a drummer at the rear of the band Styckleback seem to have endless energy to unleash on the rock scene public. After 7 encores and playing into the early hours of the morning this was by far the best, loudest and mental gig I have ever seen Styckleback perform. What a night to take with a sharp intake of breath at the finish.

CONVENTION FEEDBACK
ANOTHER DOUBLE
Two gigs over last weekend, Fri  5  October at the New Inn, Morley and Sat 6 October at the Fox, Thorpe Willoughby, brought  another double success to this talented 4-piece.

The New Inn offered plenty of room for the Bands' set up and same for the revellers dancing. Always a good night here and the crowd went home happy. Especially with the viewing of "High Powered Howard"  indelibly inked rear Upper Torso towards the end.

The same display lasted for much longer encouraging the others to follow suit and received wild scenes at the Fox, the following night. A really great atmosphere was established throughout Stycklebacks'  3 set gig, finishing well into the early hours of Sunday am. A warm welcome too for Ann and Barry who sang "Country Girl"

Next up Sun 14 October Boot and Shoe, Ackworth at 6 pm. Gonna be a great one here

See yall there

A GOOD MOVE
Sure was a good move from the Miners Arms, Morley  to the Commercial pub Cleckheaton  to celebrate the Landlords' Birthday(Sat 22 Sept) Provision of food and Best Bitter ( cash sales only!!) with  an excellent  turnout    pleased the Landlord the whole night.. Styckleback s' evening was placed on an elevated 3 sided juggernaught with plenty of dancing in an area directly below them. Encoures galore. Thank you Ian.

Next up Sat 29 September the oLD oAK,Liversedge.

See yall

HELL OF A SEPTEMBER
Covering 8 gigs throughout September is one hell of a run for Styckleback.  The Band "kicked off" 1st September at Maguires in Leeds, a fun night turned into a "Full Monty" from the veteren entertainer Simon. The mind boggles !!!

Swiftly onto the following night saw the band perform (Sun 2nd) at the 3 Horse shoes, Headingley. A new venue for this 4-piece and the night remained lively, entertaining and glowing. We were all  rocking late on this sunday evening.

Sat 8 Sept is a double header at 1pm The Bootfest festival near Ackworth an outside gig with the big boys'  Bands' (T Rex etal......). A few hours rest, then off to Otley Rugby Club (private )

Catch up with yall soon

500 mm man and (BT) Hot Lips

A "belter" of a weekend was had by all.  Supporters, followers and pleasure shown by the Styckleback

"entourage" from the sat 7 june gig at The FOX, Thorpe Willoughby to the following day, sun 8 June at The LION, Castleford gig proved yet again,   they are back.

Get yourself down to  The Boot n Shoe, Ackworth next Fri 13 July and join in the fun

EVERYBODIES ARMS
MINERS ARMS, sat 30 June 2007

What an excellent night was had by all. The Miners Arms pub in Morley, the Landlord, the staff, Styckleback hardcore and Band made sure that a final farewell curtain was drawn, giving Ann and Baz that much deserved finale.  They're moving to Portugal.  "Country Girl", sung by Ann  and Barry  had everyone up dancing, that continued well after closing time  with constant  requests for more. Time Ladies n Gentleman was called around .......(sorry cannot remember) . Birds were singing outside, the Landlord dancing on the tables and Alan (lets 'ave it now) who is also leaving,. had an audience with some "shape"  below  the waistband. Mind boggles !!

The show rolls on to the FOX at Thorpe Willoughby,  next sat 7 July

See ya there

NITTY GRITTY
Lets get down to the nitty gritty, Friday at the Bar Vida....GREAT!.......Saturday, Red Lion Shadwell ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!
Just a superb weekend. Nice to see the Fox lot again and hope Danielle impresses Simon Cowell as she did us. Good Luck Danielle. Red lion was one of the best band performances yet with a full house doing their stuff on the dance floor ( they got Stycklezapped like wot we did )

Got that Morley Town Hall steps feeling coming on, cant make it to the Keys but roll on The Miners.

C and D
THE LION ROARS
Great to see the boys doing there stuff at this pub. A first time appearence in North Leeds. The revellers swelled in numbers as Styckleback powered their way through 38 songs, finishing well past midnight.

Guess both the Landlord and the locals were well pleased with this lively 4- piece and would welcome Stycklebacks return before not too long.

Next up Fri 22 June, Cross Keys, Morley

Leeds Outdoor gig
Rain! ...What rain

What fun and atmosphere at this great little outdoor gig in Leeds. Band played on despite rain to a happy (snuggly under brollies) crowd. Thought the performance was another excellent one. Hope all equiptment is dried out for Friday at Roscoe
See you there.

BAR VIDA !
Great atmosphere and crowd at this venue, the band are really tuning in to being a four piece force to be reckoned with. Superb night was had once again.

AMAZING !
Fri May 11th, a last minute gig at The Bar Vida, Selby, bought out a good response from the revellers who were interested to see who this band were. Tucked away in the small town centre of Selby, the locals, expecting the usual Friday night party were treated to 4- piece Styckleback.
"Amazing" , was High powered Howards first words from the raised stage at the number of people who had come along. Two and a half hours later, by 11.45pm the locals had witnessed the best of Styckleback and wanted M O R E !! The bands regular followers exceeded at least 10% .
Well done at travelling so far on a miserable night !!
ROCKIN!
Always an excellent response from the revellers when at Maguires (Sat 21 April). A packed house of Styckleback followers rocked, danced and had fun for 2 and a half hours.
This 4 piece always at high energy sang over 45 songs, with Damien drumming at speed and singing so forcefully (watch out Cozy!!!).
Admirable to see new faces, sure they left feeling happy and will be (Styckle) BACK for more. U2 D&C!!

See ya'll (Fri 4 May Dewsbury Road Social Club) or (Fri 18 May Roscoe)

What a Fantastic Night
It has seemed like ages since you guys were here in January and we were all looking forward to this gig. Guess what...............we weren't dissapointed. WHAT A FANTASTIC NIGHT! Everyone up and dancing from the first song to the last. The energy you lot put out is amazing (especially as Howard had manflu) and we loved the whole set...............all 51 songs. It was great to see Ann and Barry come over for the night and we're looking forward to the 7th July already.

Thanks Guys

Jan and Dave
WOW!!!
Wow Damien wheredid you get that voice from. Excellent !!!
Another great night at the Fox - What a crowd and what a four piece band! Its safe to say we are leaving Styckleback in safe hands. Loved the new songs and thanks for inviting us up on stage we really enjoyed it. Also thank you to everyone for there good wishes and yes we are going to Portugal, just tying up loose ends like selling the house. We have bought a ruin in a forest and our next trip over there will be to clear a patch for our caravan which will be home for the next twelve months (and the rest!)
You'll know why when You see the pictures.
Once again keep on Rockin guys we'll see you in a few weeks.

Love from Ann and Baz xx

Guess what - its raining in Portugal!
A Noun
The Fox (n) Inn, cunning, sly-one. There was non of this at this pub in Thorpe Willoughby (Sat 14th April)
Stycklebacks Foxy routine was to slip at least 6 more classic songs in a fantastic lively night. It ended at 2am. We were all rocking and it certainly was "ALL RIGHT NOW". A small room but with a big following raised the roof

Next up (Sat 21 April) See you there

500mm Man and Hot Lips
Stycklezapped
This one had to be done, our first trip to The Fox and WOW!!, just how many power stations are there near Selby ? National Grid surely working over time that night. Loved the new songs it just gets better, ace bunch of people doing what ace bunches of people should be doing.....getting

See you all at Maguires

WORTH IT!
A good evening was had by all at this popular venue in Ackworth (Sun 11 March). The Boot n Shoe had all the ingredients that provide for an arousing atmosphere, a raised stage with excellent lighting, a sound system that was clear and crisp, a lively crowd and as usual a hard working band that belted out at least 35 songs. An additional 3rd set thrilled everyone. Land lord Les behaved himself, was fair and helpful,Styckleback WILL BE BACK in 4 weeks.

Next up is,The George Hotel, Brighouse(17 March) followed by The Miners Arms in Morley. (24 March)

500 mm Man, Hot lips and young Deenz
ROUND-WHICH-WAY?
The Roundhay Pub, not far from the Park hosted the bands next gig (fri 2nd March)
A first visit for this 4 piece, response was not known, Styckleback played to their customary best, but had difficulty in reaching out to the revellers simply 'cos the shape of this venue, five large areas, shaped pentagonally was well away from the band. Poor Damien was "Drumming away" , away from the rest of the band. It could be said that 120 social drinkers heard the music, around 50% think round-which-way hey? Great to see the usual band of loyal followers . Better advertising display needed next time for amore interested response here

Keep pushing on Damien,Kev,Jason and Howard

Next up Boot and Shoe, Ackworth Sunday 11th March

500mm Man
Back to Basics
Yeah, back to basics at this venue, The Cross Keys, Morley, after a storming previous Saturday.

Clear acoustics, great songs and small crowd. As the evening unfolded the revellers doubled to around 60 and burst into dancing for the last 45 minutes.
The Boys showed passion and give their all everytime with another guest appearence from Baz.

Make a DATE in your diary, Fri 2nd March at The Roundhay
See ya there

Fox Gig - 6 Jan '07
I'd just like to express my sincere thanks to all the band for an absolutely stonking night for my 40th. What a fantastic atmosphere! Sorry I forgot to thank you on the night - a combination of being 3 sheets to the wind and still having a certain kissogram/strippogram nurse on my mind. All the very best to Ann and Barry on their new life abroad. Already looking forward to the next Fox gig on 14 April. See you then, lads.

Thanks again to you all
Mark
I bet that Kev looks good on the pool table tour
Another effing amazing night at the Fox,a great send off for Baz & Ann who will be jetting off to Portugal soon and will be sadly missed (all our very best to them both for the future from all at Barlow Club) .A great night was had by all with yet another display of some brilliant sounds which had the place bouncing, looking forward to hearing the new look four piece in the near future but the last words must go to the Portugese duo who again will be sadly missed(dont forget to leave address and tarriffs for B&B over there) all the best again >>>>>>>>>>>>> The Barlow Crew ,,,,
Message from Ann and Baz
We couldn't have asked for a better night for our final gig and we'd
like to thank Mark for allowing us to share his birthday party. The Fox
has always been our favourite venue and the fantastic crowd have never
let us down with their enthusiastic appreciation for our efforts.
Thanks to everyone who has supported us from our humble beginnings
especially Al (let us really have it!)and Sim and the many friends we've made
along the way.It has been a dream come true for us, we never thought
we'd achieve so much at this stage in our lives but it has been the
icing on the cake to be so successful and we have loved it.
The band - what can we say except thanks for a great time. For all the
ups and downs, the tantrums (and there have been many), the fun and the
bond we all share, it has been an unforgettable journey which we will
carry with us for ever. Thanks guys x
If you're ever in Portugal you may just see us singing for our supper in
the local bars and the sound of 'Country Girl' wafting through the
countryside as we get the Portuguese 'jumping'!!
STYCKLEBACK LIVES ON - Good Luck Kev, Jay, Howard and Damien XXXX
ann 'n' baz bow out in style
What can you say about the fox,the mecca of gig venues? Last night was just unbelievably manic, with the crowed all ready whipped into a frenzy stickleback kicked of with their usual, enjoy this or else kick ass set and from there just got better as they went on.emotional, yes, fantastic, yes.with a crowed coming over from leeds made the night for us even more memorable, saying good bye to two friends, who with out them we would never have seen this band play at all,how much of a loss would that have been.so thankyou ann ‘n’ baz for the brilliant ride through rock’n’roll weve had a blast along the way we will miss you loads but we hope to see you some time, good luck uor hearts go with you ,stand and be true,we cry your pardon (a steven king’ism). Kev’n’Elaine
Hey!
AMAZING!!! We had the best time last night in the Fox, thanks to you guys. The music was out of this world......the pub was rocking........and Mark had a birthday to remember. Not surprised he needed a nurse after all that! Everyone had such a good time.....especially the guy who seemed to lose his trousers. Thanks to you all....and Best Wishes to Ann and Baz in Portugal. Dont forget us when you are sat on a beach. Cant wait to see the rest of the band in April.

You lot are the best and its still a wonderful world, Howard

More about Barlow
To Ann and the Guys,

WOW!!!!!

What can I say about Saturday night at Barlow?  I have never seen the
place bouncing like that before.   What a sound, what a band, what a mess you left?? lol.  You lot were amazing (as usual) and have definitely got to come back for more.  It was nice to see a crowd from Leeds come out into the sticks to see you and lots of locals as well.
Hope you all have a good New Year and hope to see you at Miners Arms, Morley on New Year's Eve if not will be at the Fox for Ann and Baz's last stand!

Cheers

Stu wants know if you think he ought to audition for next years X Factor after his debut performance to Free's All Right Now!  I think not but what do you Guys think??

Sim on Barlow
Previously gigging at the Fox, Thorpe Willoughby, interested followers from nearby Barlow booked the Band for sat 23 Dec and were treated to an electric night. Long haul to Barlow proved to be a great night.Nestling between Goole and Snaith, Barlow welcomed the Band, a Full house (est 75), cautious and watchful, yet responding with rapturous applause loosed up and danced to the 35 songs well into the early hours. A great venue, excellent acoustics and lights in a real Xmas setting

Have a good one

Feedback from 500mm man!
Hi all, missed the Maguires gig (sat 25/11) by all accounts was another good night.
Two weeks later, the December rush kicked off with the New Roscoe gig (fri 8/12), what a night, well attended n rockin 'till late. A late late booking for the following night at the Spinners Arms (sat 9/12) saw the Band appear in Dewsbury/"Oshitt",sorry Ossett. The Landlord was as usual in good "spirits" and requested Styckleback for the opening night of fun and thats what he got.
Next up is the Ringway,Horsforth (sat 16/12), a gig ALWAYS buzzing

See y'all there and paying homage to Anne n Baz for their consistent efforts in bringing joy to the Band followers. They Depart soon for warmer climes.. Alan, "Lets 'ave it now" is also joining 'em.

15th October at the Duck and Drake
Somebody made a "cock up" at the Duck n Drake (15/10) and Styckleback had little time to deal with the problem.

Their appearance slot was reduced to a 20 min turn around, usually the customary 90 mins or so and a late previous night "gig" in Selby.
In true dedicated fashion the Band played to an ever increasing audience on this late sunday afternoon and were treated to many great songs.

A steady band of Rockers growing at every "gig", next up Maguires (28/10)

See y'all there

Hi Ann,

Just wanted to say a massive thank you to you and the guys for Saturday night.  It almost made it worthwhile being 40!!!! I hope you enjoyed too.
I'm sorry that the crowd didn’t get into it a bit more - the geography of the pub didn’t help but if it's any consolation everyone who I talked to thought you were fantastic and many of them are hoping to see you at the Fox on 4 November (as are me, Stuart and the girls).
Anyway again a massive thank you to you all and we'll see you on the 4th at the Fox.

Sue
ps - Say hi to Damien from the girls!!!!
30th September at the Golden Fleece
WHAT A NIGHT (30/9), tremendous. Venue, Golden Fleece pub. Full house, lively, brought out by Styckleback, gave 3 encores. Pubs' manager demanded the bands return. This cluster of talented, tuneful musicians excelled and were responsible for chaotic dancing. Get to see this Band at some point

29th September at The Brewery Tap
Started early, finished early. The crowd at the Brewery Tap (29/9) showed no real interest or enthusiasm for this honest, entertaining bunch of Guys. A few lively  local characters apologised to the Band and begged them back on another night, " A SATURDAY night next time", a reassuring  vioce bellowed out in the corner.
Come and support this great Band and raise the roof

2nd September at the Cross Keys

1st September at the White Stag
Friday 1st September ... Styckleback kicked off with the usual frenzied pace, including 6 new additions to their excellent array of songs. Pity only a handful of diehards turned out, about 40, (not my calculation) at the White Stag, Leeds. Still worth watching and toe tapping.
That was First up....next up is the following night at The Cross Keys, Morley
