TWO GIGS IN SHEFFIELD THIS WEEKEND! COME ON YOU FAITHFUL GET ON THE M1 TO STEEL CITY

Its a welcome return to Sheffield for the Styckleback boys this weekend, firstly to Bar Abbey on Fridaythen The Sheffield Hop on Saturday. We have always had a great reception in Sheffield playing to the friendliest audiences we have ever come across. It will be our first visit to The Bar Abbey but we are expecting some familiar faces there from our visits to near by venues. On Saturday we are at The Sheffield Hop and are hoping for a decent crowd at this 400 capacity venue. We were originally asked to play on the opening night of the venue but due to building work not being finished it delayed the opening night by a week and unfortunately we were already booked to play else where which left us gutted so we are really looking forward to finally playing there to complete the trilogy of Hop venues, Sheffield, Leeds and Wakefield.

Thanks to everyone that came to watch us at The Duck and Drake and The Black Bull, both venues being packed out. The Duck was as full as I have ever seen it making this a very hot and sweaty night but a brilliant atmosphere.

Another 3 gig weekend coming up and what great venues they are. Firstly, on Friday we are at the brilliant Coniston in Idle, Bradford, always a good one. On Saturday we are in Leeds City centre at one of my favourite venues, The Hop. On Sunday we are at The Forresters in Huddesfield and what a warm welcome we have always had at this pub from landlord and locals alike, starting time will be announced asap, should be around 6.30.

A PACKED HOUSE, A HOT SWEATY LOUD NIGHT AND EXOTIC DANCERS AT THE HANOVER

After 8 weeks off and 3 warm up gigs we were back at the Hanover on Friday night. This was a very hot and sweaty night playing to a packed pub at maximum volume creating an atmosphere that encouraged two dancers with the longest legs ever to dance on top of the massive in house speaker stack on either side of the stage, WE ARE BACK!

STYCKLEBACK ARE BACK AT THE NEW ROSCOE ON NEW YEARS EVE

Styckleback WILL be playing The Roscoe on New Years Eve. After playing there for the last 3 New Years Eves we thought everyone might want a change but from the positive feedback we have decided to accept the invitation SO it would be great to have a full house yet again SEE YA DOWN THERE!

Its another 3 gig weekend for us starting on Friday night at The Bull and Fairhouse in Wakefield where ex Styckleback Jason will be depping for Andy, next day we are back on home turf at The Cross Keys in Morley with Andy back in the line up at what promises to be packed pub with 2 birthday parties and a last chance to see this line up at The Keys. On Sunday we play The Three Horseshoes in Headingley at 9.00pm where a mental night is always assured to a crowd that started the shirts off tradition thats become a bit of a legend on YouTube

Weekend review

We had a brilliant weekend only slightly marred by the appalling treatment we recieved at The Raynville on Friday, we will never set foot in that place again, Enuf said. Anyway, Saturday night we played a private gig for the Bob Farrington Bike Race Team and what a night we had. This is the 4th time we have been invited to play for them and as usual the hospitality was 2nd to none and the friendly atmosphere was just a pleasure to play in with everyone up for a good time. Plenty of drink, superb food and then camping overnight in glorious weather and waking up to a breakfast cooked by Bob made this a great gig in a relaxed atmosphere.
With all the gear packed in the van off we went to play Travsfest for the first time on a bill of superb bands including Monkey Dust, Go Commando, The Rakkiteers and Top Gun. Huge stage, huge crowd and 1 hour to show South Yorkshire what we are all about. Another fest where the stage and sound crew were top notch making life very easy. Great to meet up again with all the other bands and lots of friends that had come along to watch, Top day
